Abilmente 2014: one collaboration leads to another
Abilmente 2014 is getting closer and again this year we are delighted to take part in it.
Unfortunately, just like last year we cannot be present with a sale stand but we will nonetheless be there with two great collaborators. The first is a collaboration that’s been reinforced over the years with the Coordinamento Tessitori that runs the Atelier Feltro & Tessitura of which DHG is once again a technical sponsor. The felt artists will offer demos and courses of all kinds and for all levels and we will provide the materials. What better way to spread felt fever?
Bake Felt by Simona Girelli
But the real surprise is our collaboration with popular designer Simona Girelli. As you know, we have made 3 video tutorials with Simona about working with thermoformable felt (we are launching the last one just today!) and during the preparation for this work, she fell in love with the material. So, not only did the popular designer develop a specific technique called Bake Felt, she also asked us to develop a special product for her: lace felt, that is thermoformable felt coupled with Italian lace – that same lace that is a big hit on the most important catwalks.
The lace felt and the kits that Simona has made with this new material will be presented as a preview at Abilmente 2014 at HobbyDonna stand and then sold at the fair as well as on our website. As you see, the coupling with lace is really unusual and makes the felt extraordinarily elegant, so much that Simona even used it with our Chiffon Silk 6.
So, a new adventure starts with Abilmente 2014 for DHG.
In fact, we hope that this will be the first of many experiments that are possible with our thermoformable felt, which is revealing to be a unique and versatile product. We also hope that this will be only the first of many collaborations with designers and artists who, like Simona, can offer a new and unusual perspective on our our products. The thermoformable is truly a classic item that now, thanks to this partnership, is as trendy as it gets. Thanks, Simona!
And of course, don’t miss the chance to join us at Abilmente 2014!
P.S. The last of the video tutorials that we made with Simona is on our YouTube channel starting today.
